Clayton and Rudolph

Ok, it was a regular deer not a reindeer, but I named him Rudolph anyway. Tommy, Leland, Clayton and I took a short trip to DeQueen, Arkansas to visit Tommy's boss. We were getting ready to leave after he had given us the grand tour of his place when he asked if Clayton was old enough to appreciate seeing a deer and a goat. We thought that sounded like a cool idea (wrong again). We drove down to the fenced in area where he kept his animals and Clayton was really excited to see the big buck with the antlers. The deer kept nudging the fence and Mr. Hendrix said he probably wanted some grapes because he usually brought him some. Clayton walked around the fence toward where the doe was and the buck charged the fence. Clayton was probably 3 foot from the fence but it gave and his antlers came through the fence and hit him in the eye area. Thankfully he just got a little cut above and below the eye and nothing in the eye. After an ice cream from McDonald's he was as good as new. Needless to say Clayton didn't get around to seeing the goat.

Merry Christmas!

We hope everyone is having a very Merry Christmas! Clayton sure is, but not without a few bumps and bruises...
Just to explain the scrapes on his left eye, Clayton got in a disagreement with a 8 point buck and lost.
For those of you who don't believe me just imagine how I felt when I came home from work and that was the explanation that I was given for why my child had a swollen, scraped up eye.
Believe it or not that is actually what happened and Mom has pictures to prove it which she will post later with the full story.
We had a great time this morning. Clayton is just now the age where he is starting to understand Santa and presents. He was confused at first and by the time we were through opening gifts he was ready to open everyone else's, too.

We came to Scott and Allison's this afternoon and the boys were riding their toys that Nonnie and Tompaw got them. Carter did great, but Clayton was to revved up to focus on one thing at a time. He would ride for a few feet and then run around for a few minutes. Too much Christmas Candy I think...
I hope everyone is having a wonderful time with friends and family today, and if I don' see you before then, Happy New Year!

Clayton and Santa

This is by far the cutest Santa picture that I have ever seen in my whole life! I'm not just saying that because he's my kid...look at it! Kudos to Santa at Central Mall in Texarkana!
Well, we are all here! We moved into our duplex last weekend and it starting to shape up. It's really funny seeing our house full of stuff squeezed into a 1500 sq. ft. duplex.
Lee has had some luck in job hunting. A few things are looking promising. I knew he wouldn't have a problem.
Linda came down last weekend and helped us move. She is always such a big help! (I'm pretty lucky in the mother in law department.)
My mom is down with Carter this week. Allison and Scott are on a cruise so mom is keeping him for a few days.
I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas and I hope to see everyone soon!
